The girls in grades three through five put together an arts and crafts basket, learned about dresses from the Civil and Revolutionary War eras, donned Victorian clothing and capped the day with a tea party.

The event was sponsored by the Medina County Historical Society. Laura Loew, who is a volunteer with the society, hosted the festivities.

Loew showed the girls how to properly apply clothing to a mannequin before they all tried on dresses from yesteryear.

“It’s a fun time. The girls seem to enjoy the day and learn something in the process,” Loew said.
