Wadsworth, Medina County Crime Waves for June 17, 2011

Wadsworth police

Monday, June 6
9:43 a.m. — Farr Ave. and Summit St., an officer located an unoccupied vehicle suspected to be used in a series of thefts from cars. The vehicle, parked illegally, was towed.
11:28 a.m. — 300 block Highland Ave., a radio component worth about $50 was reported stolen.
Wednesday, June 8
12:10 a.m. — 988 High St., cash was reported stolen from Kentucky Fried Chicken.
9:25 a.m. — 100 block Wilson Road, a pair of steel posts valued at $60, a steel-framed cart worth $5 and a blue brush hog worth about $500 were reported stolen.
1:43 p.m. — 100 block Bergey St., pills and a socket set were reported stolen from a car.

Tuesday, June 7
6:14 p.m. — Bank St., during a routine traffic stop, Nikita Arnold, 23, of 7430 Avon Lake Road, Chatham Township, was arrested on a passing bad checks warrant.
Thursday, June 9
1:03 p.m. — Police Department, 110 Ainsworth St., a resident reported two wedding rings and a hope ring, worth a total of $1,900, were missing.


Saturday, June 11
6:30 a.m. — 9400 block River Styx Road, Guilford Township, two vehicles were ransacked overnight and the driver’s side window on one was broken out to gain entry. Nothing was reported missing.
7:34 a.m. — 9500 block River Styx Road, Guilford Township, windows were broken out on two vehicles overnight and each was ransacked.
8:30 a.m. — 9300 block River Styx Road, Guilford Township, several vehicles were broken into overnight. Fourteen or 15 $1 coins were removed from one vehicle, but a GPS unit and other items were left.
11:47 a.m. — 2600 block Star Lane, Wadsworth Township, two vehicles were entered overnight and two Garmin GPS units were stolen, as well as an Apple iPod and a softball bat. In one vehicle, tanning lotion was squirted into a CD player slot and radio.
1 p.m. — 2600 block Seville Road, Wadsworth Township, a Power Point projector was reported stolen. A basement window was broken to gain entry.
Sunday, June 12
11:17 a.m. — 2600 block Stewart Drive, Wadsworth Township, a thief who attempted to take a garden cultivator and removable battery as well as tool kits in plastic cases from a barn was scared off. The owner retrieved all the items.
7 p.m. — 7500 block Seville Road, Westfield Township, a necklace with a wedding band on it was reported stolen. There were no signs of forced entry.
