MEDINA — The humidity at Pleasant Valley Country Club on Monday afternoon had little effect on four local golfers.
Brunswick’s Joey Bachman and Medina’s Amanda Rom won their respective age divisions and Seville’s Alyssa Drehs and Hinckley Township’s Alicia Porvasnik shared the title in the 10-12 bracket as the Southwest Junior Golf Tour had its final regular-season event.
The tour will hold a three-day Match Play Championship at Pine Hills Golf Club starting today, before all golfers compete in the Founders Cup Tour Championship next Monday at Medina Country Club.
Bachman edged Matt Frey of Broadview Heights by a single shot en route to finishing with a 3-over-par 75, while Rom chalked up the victory thanks to a round of 85. He outlasted fellow Medina resident Madison Loftis by four strokes.
Drehs and Porvasnik fired identical 52s to share bragging rights in nine-hole competition.
Hinckley Township’s Chad Dubiel was second in the 12-13 age group and Justin Roth of Brunswick placed in a tie for runner-up in 14-15.
