Brooklyn motorcyclist, 70, dies after Sunday crash

LIVERPOOL TWP. — A Brooklyn man died Tuesday following a two-vehicle accident Sunday night on Abbeyville Road, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Lawrence Graczykowski, 70, was driving a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle north on Abbeyville just north of Muntz Road around 8:20 p.m. when he failed to navigate a curve, went left of center and collided with an oncoming Pontiac Grand Prix. The driver of the car, Corinne Johnson, 21, of Liverpool Township, was not injured in the crash, according to the Patrol.

Graczykowski reportedly was ejected from the motorcycle after it overturned.

A patrol report said Valley City rescuers transported Graczykowski to Medina Hospital and he later was taken by emergency helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.

Graczykowski died Tuesday at Metro, the patrol said.

It was not clear if Graczykowski was wearing a helmet, according to the patrol.

The crash remains under investigation.
