Wadsworth Crime Waves for Aug. 12, 2011

Wadsworth police

Monday, Aug. 1
9:07 a.m. – 200 block of N. Avon Ave., an officer was sent to a residence to check on three children reportedly home alone while their mother went to Walmart. The kids were in contact with children’s services when the officer arrived. Sally J. Thornton, 33, of 225 N. Avon Ave., was issued a municipal court summons for child endangering.
11 p.m. – 100 block Broad St., a resident reported his black Dell Notebook valued at $279 was stolen. The incident is under investigation.
11:30 p.m. – 441 College St., an officer responded to the ballpark at College and Avon streets to see about a vehicle doing donuts in the outfield. Multiple donuts were visible, the officer reported. There are no suspects at this time.
Friday, Aug. 5
12:23 p.m. – 625 Broad St., an officer was dispatched to Wadsworth High School regarding an alleged assault of a student by another pupil. The case is being forwarded to the Medina County juvenile prosecutor.
Saturday, Aug. 6
11:54 a.m. – 200 block First St., an officer met with a resident who found clothing and drug paraphernalia on the property. The items were collected by police. There is nothing further to report at this time.

Lodi police

Thursday, Aug. 4
8:44 p.m. – 600 block Lisa Court, an officer responded to a residence regarding an intoxicated individual who reportedly shot a firearm. After investigating the scene, the officer determined that was not the case. A firecracker was the likely cause of the noise. No arrest was made.
Sunday, Aug. 7
4:12 p.m. – Redfield Drive, after a routine traffic stop in Lodi, an officer cited Matthew Clegg, 19, 6145 Rivers Corner Road, Spencer, on the charge of underage possession of alcohol. Cody Jones, 23, of Lorain, was arrested on the charges of operating a vehicle while impaired and having no operator’s license.
