ELYRIA — Buckeye’s Tyler Bogus left his chances to qualify out of the Forest Hills Division II Sectional on the way home.
Meanwhile, Black River’s Logan Wolfe left playing bogey ball in a three-hole playoff for the fourth available spot.
Bogus shot 83 Tuesday at the soggy track, which tied him for the fourth eligible spot for next week’s Windmill Lakes District. The only problem was Bogus left the course early and wasn’t available for the playoff.
Black River’s Logan Wolfe was, however, highlighted by hot putting — he had only 22 putts. He took part in the playoff with Northwestern’s Matt Hagans.
Neither golfer seemed to want that fourth spot, as both took bogey on the opening hole. On the second, they both had triple-bogey eights. Hagans finally took the spot with a double-bogey seven.
Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy took the team title with a 332 despite numerous standing water spots due to heavy Monday rains.
Woodridge (337) grabbed the runner-up spot, followed by Bay (341) and Norwayne (349).
Buckeye finished 10th among the teams with 376 while Black River was 11th at 378.
