Wadsworth Crime Waves for Sept. 30, 2011

Thursday, Sept. 22
11:29 p.m. — 195 Wadsworth Road, an officer was dispatched to Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital for what appeared to be marijuana left in a patient’s room. Clyde M. Brumfield IV, 52, of Rittman, was charged with marijuana possession.
Friday, Sept. 23
11:57 a.m. — 100 block Fairlawn Ave., an officer responded to a home regarding the theft of a Dell laptop computer valued at $400 from an unlocked car.
Saturday, Sept. 24
2:35 a.m. — Interstate 76 and High St., after an officer pulled over a driver for a traffic violation, Christina E. Ray, 35, of Akron, was cited for operating a vehicle while impaired.
Sunday, Sept. 25
1 a.m. — 100 block Franks Ave., two residents reported $70 and a cell phone were stolen.
Monday, Sept. 26
7:41 a.m. — 300 block Chestnut Street, an officer responded to a complaint regarding BBs being shot at three vehicles. Random cars reportedly were targeted from a moving vehicle. One BB was retrieved from the windshield of a vehicle.
Tuesday, Sept. 27
8:30 a.m. — Broad and Auble streets, a juvenile riding his bike to school ran into a stopped vehicle waiting to make a turn onto Broad from Auble. The boy sustained a sprained ankle.

Tuesday, Sept. 20
1 p.m. — Lodi Community Park, an officer responded to the park about a juvenile who was writing and drawing with markers on a table in a pavilion. The youth’s parents were called, and he was banned from the park.
Saturday, Sept. 24
2:56 p.m. — 100 block Howe St., an officer was dispatched to a home to assist a probation officer with a juvenile check. In the youth’s bedroom, three glass pipes with marijuana residue, another pipe, an unused syringe, a digital scale and a plastic baggie reportedly were found. The juvenile was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.


Tuesday, Sept. 20
6:19 a.m. — 6600 block Grafton Road, Liverpool Township, doorknobs to Magnificuts Hair Salon were damaged, but entry was not gained.
12:33 p.m. — 7900 block Rodgers Road, Chatham Township, a man reported someone tried to purchase items online with his information and access his investments.
3:52 p.m. — 9400 block Lodi Road, Harrisville Township, a door frame was damaged when someone stole five truck batteries, 20 scrap batteries, four dragline casings and numerous tractor parts.
Wednesday, Sept. 21
9:51 a.m. — 9300 block Jamison Road, Harrisville Township, a welding extension cord, copper ground wire, a 10-guage semi-automatic shotgun and a loading rifle were reported stolen.
2:18 p.m. — 8400 block Harley Drive, Harrisville Township, about $40 worth of prepared potato wedges, chicken strips and grilled chicken were reported damaged. Bradley C. Clements, 22, of 102 Sunset Drive, Lodi, was cited for criminal mischief.
7:44 p.m. — 9200 block Jamison Road, Harrisville Township, a blue Yamaha portable wheeled generator was reported stolen from a barn.
Friday, Sept. 23
11:39 a.m. — 11000 block Crawford Road, Homer Township, an officer responded to a report of an explosive device. The Summit County Bomb Squad responded and determined it was a homemade firecracker that failed to ignite.
6:49 p.m. — 2900 block Ridge Road, Granger Township, Kristina M. Ratliff, 26, of 118 E. Prospect St., Lodi, was cited for theft after she allegedly stole two candy bars and car air fresheners from a gas station.
8:56 p.m. — 300 block Ridge Road, Medina, Michael A. McCune, 50, of 1211 Winterberry Lane, Granger Township, was cited for criminal damaging after he allegedly used a piece of wood to put dents in the right rear fender of another person’s vehicle.
Saturday, Sept. 24
9:06 a.m. — 7300 block Lake Road, Lafayette Township, Mattia G. Robertson, 24, was cited for possession of drugs. A clear plastic pipe with suspected marijuana, crack cocaine, a cotton swab, and a syringe containing heroin residue were seized.
Sunday, Sept. 25
7:38 a.m. — 5700 block Center Road, Liverpool Township, a business was broken into overnight and cash was stolen from the safe.
4:26 p.m. — 4100 block Columbia Road, York Township, someone attempted to enter an enclosed porch area and damaged two sliding glass doors. The home was not entered.
