Boys basketball: Mounties ride off with win

ORANGE TWP. — Mapleton’s boys basketball team grabbed victory from the jaws of defeat Tuesday.

The Mounties trailed Black River heading into the fourth quarter, but roared back to take a 54-46 non-conference victory.

Lead by Brandon Bahr’s game-high 15 points, Mapleton (2-5) outscored the Pirates (1-5) 19-8 in the fourth quarter to snap a five-game losing streak.

Zach Sword led the Pirates, who have dropped five straight, with 10 points, while Tyler Potter and Gus Kazek added nine apiece.
