Creston women sustain head injuries in Route 3 crash
MONTVILLE TWP. — Two Creston women were transported to an area hospital via emergency helicopter Thursday afternoon after their car hit a culvert on state Route 3.
The driver, Lynn Gorris, 50, was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland after sustaining a head injury, Medina Fire Chief Bob Painter said. She is listed in critical condition, a hospital spokeswoman said this afternoon.

Dana Ceccarelli, 21, was taken by ambulance to the Medina Hospital helipad and flown to MetroHealth, also with a head injury, Montville Sgt. Matthew Neil said.
A hospital spokeswoman said Ceccarelli would be discharged Thursday night.
Gorris was driving a blue Mercury Grand Marquis south in the 7300 block of Route 3 when she veered off the right side of the road into a ditch and hit a cement culvert, Neil said.
Emergency crews responded to the call at about 12:20 p.m. and traffic was shut down north and south of the accident, he said.
The women were pinned in the car by the dashboard, and the Medina Fire Department freed them by removing the car’s roof, Painter said.
Besides the Medina Fire Department and Montville police, Medina Hospital’s Life Support Team and Seville Police and Fire departments responded.
Neil said a witness reported the vehicle was weaving before the crash.
Both women were wearing seat belts, he said.
Charges are pending, Neil said.
