College notes: Kevin Krakowiak is making big contributions

In just two seasons, Baldwin-Wallace guard Kevin Krakowiak has proven to be as steady as they come.

The Holy Name graduate and Liverpool Township resident showed that consistency this past week with a pair of impressive performances against Heidelberg and Wilmington. He scored 42 points combined for the two games.

Kevin Krakowiak

The sophomore scored a career-high 31 points in the Yellow Jackets’ 80-74 victory over Heidelberg on Jan. 25. Krakowiak went 13-of-19 from the floor, including a sparkling 4-of-6 from 3-point range.

The 6-foot-4, 173-pounder, who is averaging 13.6 points and is second on the team with 31 3-pointers, followed with 11 points against Wilmington on Saturday.

For the week, the shooting guard was 18-of-30 from the floor (60 percent) and 5-of-9 from the outside (55.6).

B-W also features former Brunswick standouts Kyle Payne and Tyler Ferrell.

Payne scored 21 points, but it wasn’t enough in B-W’s 77-70 overtime loss to Wilmington. Ferrell added 10 rebounds.

B-W will hit the road this week to take on Otterbein before returning home to play Muskingum on Saturday at 3 p.m.
