COLUMBUS — High winds are expected to hit Medina County and most of Ohio today as a cold front makes its way across the state.
A southwest wind is expected to increase from 10-12 mph this morning to between 25 and 30 mph by afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Wind gusts could reach 55 mph by late this afternoon.
Wind advisories covering most of the state today will be in effect from midmorning to late evening.
Rain is expected for this morning in Medina and could change to snow by the afternoon, the NWS report states. Daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch is likely.
The weather service cautions that winds could blow down trees and power lines and cause minor damage to property.
