He retired from the Ford Motor Company in Brookpark, plant #2, after 33 years of service. He was currently a member of First Baptist Church and former member of Strongsville Baptist Church where he was a Deacon. Freddy was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Freddy enjoyed being one of the Medina Police Specials for 13 years.
He was the beloved husband of Joy (Whittaker) to whom he was married 54 years; loving father of Drema (Scott) Hennis of Homerville, Robin Bearden of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Denise (Tom) Perry of Winter Haven, Florida and Anthony (Karen) of Lodi; caring grandfather of Mike, Jason, Jeff, James, Ryan, Grant, Benjamin, J.P., Freddy, Kenny and Robbie; great-grandfather of Asheton, J. Michael, Liam and Lacey.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Samuel, Robert and Doug Wells.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, September 3, 2012 at 6 P.M. at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Pastor Mark Milioni will officiate. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. Family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 6 P.M. in the funeral home.
