Charles G. Greer, 79, of Rittman, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Regency Hospital in Barberton. He was born August 4, 1933, in Johnson City, Kentucky to Clyde A. and Minnie (Ferrell) Greer and lived most of his life in Rittman.
Charles graduated from Rittman High School in the class of 1953 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a self-employed carpenter and enjoyed woodworking, and was an avid basketball fan. Charles also helped raise money for Akron Children’s Hospital by building train tables.
Surviving is his wife, Lillian; sons, Brian (Nancy) Greer of Seville and David (Caryn) Greer of Medina; daughters, Dana Greer of Cuyahoga Falls and Robin (Dennis) Lang of Cleveland; and grandchildren, Deserea and Jarrod Bailey and MacKenzie, Amanda, Austin and Zachary Greer.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Rittman, at 12:30 P.M. There will be no calling hours.
