James J. (Jimmie) McClure, 83, of Spencer, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012 at his home. He was born in Woodrow, West Virginia, on July 11, 1929 to James and Grace (Moore) McClure and was a 1947 graduate of Tygert Valley High School. He had resided in Brookpark, moving to Spencer in 1983.
Jimmie was a service station manager for Standard Oil retiring in 1987 after 32 years of service. He had also worked for CW Sommers in Lodi and later Underwood Dodge Lincoln Mercury for 10 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving from 1947 to 1950.
Surviving are his wife, Nina, to whom he married in 1952; children, Jimmie (Eileen) McClure of Chatham, Tina (John) Garcia of Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren, Stacey, Steven, Nicholas and Margarita; three great-grandchildren; sister, Juanita Mace of West Virginia; half brother, John Perrette of Valley City; sister-in-law, Eleanor Wade of Grafton,
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Stanford.
According to his wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
