WADSWORTH TWP. — Firefighters say they haven’t been able to determine the cause of a barn fire that resulted in losses of about $200,000 to farm equipment and crops.
The Oct. 26 blaze destroyed a 2,000-square-foot storage barn and its contents. Among the items inside the barn were a car, lawn equipment, camping trailer, farm implements, hay and grain.
Ron Likley, the assistant Wadsworth Fire Department chief, said Wednesday that the cause of the fire has been designated as “undetermined.”
“The damage was so extensive, we couldn’t come up with a cause,” he said.
The fire was reported at 5:37 p.m. Oct. 26 on property at 4230 S. Medina Line Road.
It took nearly two hours for firefighters to get the blaze under control, Likley said.
There were no injuries to residents of the property, firefighters or livestock.
Departments from Sharon Township, Seville, Medina, Copley, Norton, Sterling and Marshallville assisted in extinguishing the blaze.
