Blowin’ in the electronic-powered wind

David Selders, 75, of Medina, operates a leaf blower Thursday outside his Guilford Boulevard home. City workers are collecting leaves raked to the curb in the southeast section of the city before advancing to the city’s southwest zone. Medina residents also can bag leaves to be picked up on their designated trash day. (GAZETTE PHOTO BY KIERA MANION-FISCHER)

The goal here is not to rake them to the curb but to accumulate a big pile and then mulch them. Some are used for the garden beds over the winter and some are used for mulching the beds in the spring. They easily compoist and add good soil to the beds.
