Elaine M. Buda, 87, of Medina, went onto her heavenly home Wednesday, November 7, 2012. Elaine was born June 27, 1925, in Cleveland, to the late Charles and Margaret Schneider.
Elaine was an only child. She grew up in Cuyahoga County, and graduated from James Ford Rhodes High School. Elaine had resided in Medina County for over 50 years. She was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, Litchfield. Elaine had worked as a secretary for Tubbs Agency, Medina, and was a former co-owner of Dorel Floral Arrangements, Medina. Elaine retired as a Food Staff Auditor from the Summit County Welfare Department, where she had worked many years. Elaine was very proud of her children and grandchildren. She had a love for vocal music and, as a young woman, had a brief avocation singing at friends weddings. She developed a talent for playing the organ and loved to perform for her grandchildren when they were young. She also enjoyed outings with her many friends which included activities with the Red Hat Society. She will be remembered as an outgoing and humorous companion.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, John M.; and her children, David M. Buda, and John T. (Sharon) Buda; grandchildren, Michael and Thomas Skidmore, Jessica Buda, Shannon McDonald, Nathan Richardson, Isaac Buda and Daniel Buda; and her great grandchildren, Jacob and Janice Skidmore.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Barbara E. Skidmore and Susan J. Richardson; and her grandson, Joshua D. Buda.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, November 12, 2012, at 11 A.M., at Our Lady Help of Christian Parish, 9608 Norwalk Rd., Litchfield. Calling hours are Sunday, November 11, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M., at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road, Valley City, and Monday, November 12, 2012, 10 A.M. to 11 A.M., at the church. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Valley City.
