$200,000 in damages likely for fire at Medina senior community

MEDINA — Investigators said the fire that destroyed one apartment and damaged two others started in a bathroom at the Nottingham Court senior community Wednesday night.

Medina Fire Chief Bob Painter said estimated damages of just less than $200,000 were caused by a heating unit in the bathroom that was left on at 760 Nottingham Drive.

Ohio’s unemployment rate drops again, below U.S. rate

COLUMBUS — Ohio’s unemployment rate has inched downward again.

The state Department of Job and Family Services said today that seasonally adjusted joblessness in Ohio was 6.9 percent in October, down from the revised figure of 7.1 percent in September. That’s the lowest rate since August 2008, when it was 6.8 percent.

Four juniors are honored on high-school football 1st teams
