Former Ohio parole officer faces prostitution charges

MANSFIELD — A former parole officer for the Ohio Department of Youth Services has been accused of hiring prostitutes while on duty.

The Mansfield News Journal reported that 55-year-old Edward Favers was indicted on various charges that include procuring or soliciting a prostitute and theft in office.

Richland County Assistant Prosecutor Gary Bishop said Favers is accused of picking up prostitutes and taking them to his pontoon boat at a marina, as well as falsifying his employee time card and other records.

Favers was placed on administrative leave in June and retired Oct. 12. Bishop said Favers worked with Richland County Juvenile Court.

His attorney information wasn’t immediately available. He is scheduled to be arraigned next week.
