Got Any Of These Plumbing Problems? Here Are Some Expert Solutions - Sponsored Post
In the greater Cleveland area, as anywhere, you’re likely at one time or another to experience plumbing problems. We know that most homeowners have little or no experience with these issues, and that they can be aggravating to say the least. Here are a few of the most common problems you may encounter in your kitchen or bathroom, and what can be done to resolve the issue:
Low water pressure. You may notice a water pressure problem when they turn on the water at the sink. Before you do anything else, check to see if the problem is affecting both the cold and hot water. If so, it’s possible the aerator has become blocked by calcium deposits. Remove the aerator, clean out build-up and debris, and replace it.
Noisy pipes. If you’re hearing strange noises, it could be your hot water line if you have copper pipes in your home. When a water pipe expands as the water that runs through it heats and cools, it can rub against the wood flooring where the hole was cut for the pipe to enter. If you can locate the pipe, enlarge the opening or insulate around the pipe to get rid of the noise.
Faulty fixtures. One of the most common plumbing problems is faulty fixtures such as shower heads, toilets and faucets. Look at the fixture to determine if there are signs of deterioration, and if so, replace the fixture. The fixture often can be repaired if clamps have become loose; replace Teflon tape that is worn as well. When replacing a leaky faucet, be sure to shut off water and fill joints of threaded pipes with plumber’s putty or tape before installing.
