CB (Pete) Powers, 74, of Litchfield, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 with his wife at his side, following his battle with Alzheimer. CB was born in Delbarton, West Virginia, on May 16, 1938. He has resided in Litchfield for 52 years.
He was a member of Buckeye Christian Assembly. CB had worked for over 43 years at General Motors, Parma. He was an avid hunter, loved pitching horseshoes and was the best slow pitch left-hand softball player ever. He loved to mow grass, till the garden and was known for raising the biggest heads of cabbage. CB admired his grand champion coon dog, Red Cloud. He had won the World Horseshoe Pitcher title in 2004. CB enjoyed watching Westerns and being with his family. CB always shared that he had the best wife of all times.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Carmel (nee Perdue); children, Terry (Robin) Powers of Medina, Tammy (Bob) Dressler of Litchfield and Tim Powers of Virginia; grandchildren, TJ (Jess) Powers of Medina, Rachael (Matt) Barner of Valley City, Brittany Dressler of Litchfield, Kendra Artrip of Rittman; great grandchildren, Marly, Aleah, Trey, Lucas, Braylon and Rayshawn; sister, Gail (Carl) Ellis of West Virginia; sister-in-law, Emily Massey of Arizona, (caregiver); close friend, Junior Brant and many other friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carson Powers on October 1, 2012; and his mother, Bertha Powers on January 5, 2010.
Calling hours will be from 1 P.M. until the time of funeral service at 4 P.M., Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road, Valley City, with Pastors Tim Fritz and Emily Massey, officiating.
