Wooster teenager injured in head-on crash

SEVILLE — A 17-year-old Wooster boy was in satisfactory condition Thursday after his car crashed head-on with a delivery truck Wednesday on state Route 3 near Hazelwood Drive.

Clay Blair was traveling north in a 2004 Kia Optima on Route 3 at 2:39 p.m. Wednesday when it veered left and collided with a southbound 2003 International box truck head-on, Don Burson, chief of the Seville Police Department, said.

Blair was flown to Akron City Hospital after receiving treatment at the crash scene from emergency medics, Burson said.

A hospital spokeswoman said Blair was listed in satisfactory condition Thursday afternoon.
The driver of the box truck, 57-year-old Daniel Remsier, of Seville, was not injured, Burson said.

Remsier was wearing a seat belt, Burson said, and wasn’t sure whether Blair was wearing one. There were no other occupants in either vehicle.

No charges have been filed as a result of the crash, which remains under investigation, Burson said.
