Medina employees to get new health carrier

MEDINA — The city is changing its health insurance provider for employees.

City Council voted at a special meeting Monday to end Medina’s contract with Akron-based SummaCare and enter a contract with United Healthcare, based in Hartford, Conn.

The new pact goes into effect Jan. 1.

Brunswick Schools to place levy on May election ballot
