MEDINA — Residents now can pay their water and trash bills online using a new service offered by the city.
Residents can sign upatwww.medinaoh.org, by clicking on a link at the right side of the homepage under “Meetings and Notices.”
“This is something we’ve wanted for a while because everybody else in the retail world, in the service world, made this an option,” said Medina Mayor Dennis Hanwell.
Under the new service, the city pays $1.57 per online credit card transaction. But City Council agreed in October not to pass on the service fee to residents.
The software allows residents to look at utility bills online and payment history and lets them receive bills electronically instead of by mail.
The city already allows residents to pay their bills with electronic transfers from their bank accounts, in addition to paying by mail and in person.
