The following people appeared in Common Pleas Court Dec. 26, according to Medina County Prosecutor Dean Holman:

• James Brown, 20, Elyria Street, Lodi, pleaded not guilty to one count of trafficking in marijuana, a fifth-degree felony. A jury trial is scheduled for March 25.

• Evan Cerny, 25, Birch Hill Drive, Medina, pleaded not guilty to one count of possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony. A jury trial is scheduled for March 27.

• Jeffrey Hutchison, 47, North Seneca Street, Rittman, pleaded not guilty to one count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony. A jury trial is scheduled for Feb. 13.

• Melissa Johnson, 38, Pennsylvania, pleaded not guilty to one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. A jury trial is scheduled for March 27.

• Brian Slone, 39, Gallia Street, Portsmouth, pleaded not guilty to one count of tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony; one count of attempted deception to obtain dangerous drugs and two counts of identity fraud, all fifth-degree felonies. A jury trial is scheduled for Feb. 11.

• Danielle Tschappat, 29, Dawnshire Drive, Chippewa Lake, pleaded not guilty to one count of tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, and one count of domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor. A jury trial is scheduled for March 25.
