Cloverleaf edges New Philadelphia in swimming

NEW PHILADELPHIA — The Cloverleaf boys swim team defeated New Philadelphia 90-70 on Wednesday.

Adam Goodreau, Josh Butt and Brice Bechtel paced the Colts, as each picked up a pair of individual firsts.

Goodreau won the 200-yard freestyle and 100 butterfly, Butt placed first in the 50 and 100 frees and Bechtel captured the 500 free and 200 individual medley.

Brian Easterling (100 backstroke) and Jake Thacker (100 breaststroke) picked up Cloverleaf’s other firsts.

Thacker, Bechtel, Butt and Goodreau teamed to win the 200 and 400 free relays.

New Philadelphia beat Cloverleaf’s girls team 93-69.

Picking up a pair of wins each for the Colts were Janelle Jordan (50 and 100 free) and Emily Chudzinski (500 free and 100 breaststroke), while Tessa Plazek took first in the 200 free.
