John P. Pafford, 90, formerly of Brunswick, left this world to be with his heavenly Father, Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Big Sandy, Tennessee to Pheo and Lila Mae (nee Hoffman) Pafford.
He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army, worked for GM for 33 years, and was a charter member of UAW Local 1005. He was a former member of Bethel Temple and ClearView Church.
John is survived by his wife, JoAnn (Fetterman-Heckman) Pafford; his children, Aleeta (Mervin) Dunn, Reverend Everette (Elke) Pafford and Michelle (Gary) McPherson; sisters, Delma Ristway and Imogene Merrell; daughter-in-law, Deborah Pafford; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Viola (Hitschler) Pafford and Dale (Boardman) Pafford; son, James Pafford; and sister, Marie Thomas.
Friends may join the family for visitation Sunday, January 6, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M., at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Rd., Medina. Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home Monday, January 7, 2013, at 10 A.M., with Reverend James Hurst officiating, and visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memory Gardens, Brunswick.
