Frank R. Markiewicz

Frank R. Markiewicz, 91, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012. He was born October 4, 1921 in Cleveland, to the late Edward and Lottie (Bogacasi) Markiewicz.

Frank was a night foreman for 34 years at Fastener Industries. He was a former member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Frank was an avid golfer, fisherman, and bowler and is in the Medina County Bowling Hall of Fame. He served his country as Corporal with Battery C 784 Coast Artillery Corps in Europe during World War II.

He lived most of his life in Medina County, residing in Brunswick, Chippewa Lake, and most recently with his dear friends at Nottingham Court in Medina.

He was the loving grandfather of Traci Church, Aaron Markiewicz, Adam (Ashelle) Church, Sean (Kelly) Kriak and Heidi Kriak; great-grandfather of Amanda, Abigail, Charles, Payton, Maizy and Lily; and dear father-in-law of Lorraine Markiewicz.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria (Calta); son, Gordon; daughter, Barbara Church; and son-in-law, Terrence Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 A.M., Monday, January 7, 2013 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 P.M., Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St.
