Girls basketball: Blue Devils on roll vs. Normandy

PARMA — Gabrielle Bulic erupted for 21 points, 15 rebounds, two assists and four blocks Monday as the Brunswick girls basketball team rolled to a 53-33 Northeast Ohio Conference crossover victory over Normandy.

Behind the 6-foot-5 Bulic, the Blue Devils (7-5) jumped to an 11-0 lead against the Invaders (3-7) and never looked back. Brunswick also got 13 points from Brianna Moss and 10 from Paige Salisbury.

Normandy didn’t record its first assist until 2:18 into the second half, at which time it already had 19 turnovers. The Invaders’ starters combined to go 7-for-33 on the night.

SHEFFIELD TWP. — Sophia Barnes had six points as Buckeye’s eighth-grade girls basketball team opened its season with a 15-14 Patriot Athletic Conference victory over Clearview. The Buckeye seventh-graders lost 12-11 despite four points apiece from Camerin Kimble and Fallon Joyce.
