Seryc Schmoll has good day for bowling
LORAIN — Seryc Schmoll had a 403 series Monday, but it wasn’t enough as the Black River boys bowling team fell 2,128-2,066 to Lorain in North Shore Bowling Conference action at Rebman Recreation Lanes.
Schmoll had games of 178 and a career-high 226, while Brandon Wacker, who had a perfect game in practice Thursday at Strikeout Lanes, had games of 193 and 205 and Justin Sword had 150 and 227.
Black River lost the girls match 1,796-1,310. Emily Vorhovitz had games of 123 and 158 and Alexis Lange had 141 and 128.

Buckeye
WELLINGTON — Zak Diaz (239-180—419), Brandon Butcher (223-181—404) and Jonathon Ingham (191-209—400) had 400 series, but the Buckeye boys fell 2,293-2,211 to Keystone in NSBC action. The Buckeye girls lost 1,727-1,196 despite a 327 series (189-138) from Chrissy Nichols. Buckeye won the junior varsity boys match 1,695-1,693 behind a 409 series (194-215) from Kyle Butcher.
