Oris Opal Huston

Oris Opal Huston, 96, died Monday, January 7, 2013. She was born February 28, 1916 in Jackson Township, Ohio, to the late Lloyd and June (Clark) Arnold.

In 1934, she was graduated from Shiloh High School and was married. Oris, whose greatest joy was spending time with her family, spent her life as a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, G. Leo in 1966; and son, Larry in 2007.

She is survived by her daughter, Norma (Lorrell) Mast of Wadsworth; daughter-in-law, Laurie (Meyers) Huston of Westerville; five grandchildren, Lisa (Wally) Younger, Julie (Scott) Bowman, Joseph Mast, Sharon (Dale) Thompson and Jeff (Sally) Huston and 10 great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Ashley, Brittany, Jordyn, Eric, Christian, Victoria, Kelly, Jamie and Steven.

Oris, affectionately known as “Nana” holds a special place in the hearts of many. She is fondly remembered for her love for God and for sharing that love with others. She was an avid gardener, creative woodworker and exceptional cook and hostess. With a welcoming spirit, she often opened her home to share a time of fun and laughter. Many have been blessed through her prayers, generosity and sound advice.

Funeral service will be held Friday, January 11, 2013 at 11 A.M. at Freshwater Community Church, 185 Humboldt Avenue, Wadsworth, where visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Freshwater Community Church.
