Joyce Elaine Taylor, 83, of Lodi, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Life Care Center of Medina, where she had resided the past four years. She was born February 5, 1929 in Decatur, Indiana, to Charles and Mary (Andrews) Pickering.
She grew up in Chatham and later resided in Lodi, following her marriage in Wooster to Robert M. Taylor on December 27, 1947, he survives. They moved to Michigan and lived there for 30 years before returning to Lodi in 1998.
Joyce was a homemaker and had been active with the West Salem Senior Citizens.
In addition to her husband, Robert, she is also survived by daughter, Connie (Jack) Butler of Jacksonville, Florida; son, Robert H. of Medina; grandchildren, Christie (Kent) Stermon, Laura (Scott) Windsor, Lisa Taylor; great-granddaughter, Abigail (Abbie) Stermon; brother, Glenn Pickering of Florida; beloved caregiver, Patricia Harrah.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Alma, Marceil and Loretta; and brothers, Charles, Lloyd, Ted, Russ, and Otis.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 1 P.M. at the Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, (330) 948-1122. Rev. Randy K’Meyer will officiate. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted. Visitation will be Monday, January 14, 2013 from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
