He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, retired from Chrysler Corporation in Twinsburg as a Die Setter Supervisor, was a gifted cabinet maker, a charter member of the Akron Silver League Slo Pitch and Travel Teams, enjoyed Harley Davidsons, bowling, hunting, fishing , his little buddy, Kobe and most of all, watching his grandchildren play sports.
Survivors include his loving wife, Marty (Hastings) Easton-Swenskie; daughters, Betty Lou (Ed) Skidmore, Nadine (Darryl) Wamplers, Danita (Joe) Srodek, Dawn (Brian) Rice and Danna (Burch) Vandergriff; sons, James (Tracy Reuter) Swenskie and Dan (Thelma) Easton; 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brother, John Swenskie: and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends,including special cousins, Dolores Furratti and Gloria Masters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Mary Kay Niemiec; sisters, Mary Joan and Dolores; and brother, Anthony.
Calling hours will be from 4 until 7 P.M., Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home, Streetsboro Chapel, with funeral services to follow at 7 P.M., Tuesday, with Reverend William Snyder officiating. Burial will take place Thursday, January 17, 2013, in Frostburg, Maryland. The family request memorials to HMC Hospice of Medina County (www.hospiceofmedina.org)
