Marilyn J. Trent, 68, of Seville, died Saturday, January 12, 2013, at her home surrounded by family following a lengthy illness. She was born November 6, 1944 to Harry S. Saurer and Esther O. Saurer and married Edward R. Trent on March 2, 1963.
Marilyn was a 1962 graduate of Rittman High School and made her home in the Seville area. She was an active member of the Rittman Apostolic Church and enjoyed helping with meals and working in the kitchen.
Marilyn focused her time and energy as a homemaker devoted to her family and friends. She will be fondly remembered for her love for God and for sharing her love with her family and so many others. She particularly loved children and opened her home to everyone, not wanting anyone to leave without having some type of homemade treat. She was well known for making wonderful homemade bread, coffee cake and pies. Many have been blessed through her prayers, caring and generosity.
Surviving is her husband, Edward R. Trent of Seville; children, Kevin (Marcia) Trent of Smithville, Greg (Brenda) Trent of Mansfield, Jeff Trent of Columbus, Paul (Nicole) Trent of Smithville and Heidi Mills of Creston; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brothers, Roger (Sue) Saurer, Dan (Brenda) Saurer; sister, Joann (Ron) Christian; and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Saurer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Thomas Saurer.
Services will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at the Rittman Apostolic Church, 10699 Steiner Road, with Ministers of the church officiating. Burial will be in the Apostolic Cemetery. Friends may call Monday, January 14, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Apostolic Fellowship Hall, 11484 Steiner Road or from 9:30 to 10:15 A.M. prior to the services at the church.
