Robert “Bob” Hays

Robert “Bob” Hays, 66, caught his flight to heaven on Saturday, January 12, 2013, in Round Rock, Texas, after a lengthy hospitalization. He will be missed by his loving family, many friends and those who knew him.

He was a Telecommunication Manager at NASA, retiring in 2005. He was also the electrifying Mr. Rock-n-Roll, long-time DJ at the Buckeye Lounge. Bob enjoyed playing the organ, gardening, cooking, do-it-yourself projects and traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Alice (Anagnost) Hays; mother, Kathryn (Faessel) Hays of Bedford; daughters, Sandra Hays-Flynn of Olmsted Falls, Cheryl (Joe Klysh) Phillips of Brunswick; stepson, Scott (Jessica) Hutchins of Medina; and stepdaughter, Brandy (Christina) Hutchins of North Royalton; father-in-law to Jack “Chip” Flynn of Strongsville; sister, Mary (Jeff) Garman of Sandusky; beloved uncle of many and a great uncle; grandchildren, Tiffanni Phillips, Carmyn Phillips, Abigail Flynn, Hannah Flynn, and Brianna, Leah, Scott Jr., and Jesse Hutchins.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Karen (Russ); his father, Arden E. Hays; and granddaughter, Diane Phillips.

Friends may join the family for visitation Sunday, January 20, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6- to 8 P.M., at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road (½ mile South of Route 303), Brunswick. Services to be held at 12 P.M., Monday, January 21, 2013, at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Eastlawn Memory Gardens, Brunswick. A Rock-n-Roll Remembrance will be at the Buckeye Lounge after cemetery committal services.
