Student at Black River Middle School suspended for BB gun

SULLIVAN TWP. — A Black River Middle School student received a 10-day suspension Tuesday after school officials found a BB gun in his backpack on campus.

The unnamed student could face expulsion and criminal charges, according to the school district’s website.

The student showed classmates the BB gun on the bus to school. Administrators were alerted and police were contacted, the website post said.

“Law enforcement did make a report that is being sent to the Ashland County Prosecutor’s Office,” the post said.

“The Ashland County Prosecutor will decide on charges to be filed.”
