Medina County Court Log for this week

The following people appeared in Medina County Common Pleas Court on Jan. 22, according to county Prosecutor Dean Holman:

- Antonio Hargrove, 25, of Springbrook Drive in Medina, was sentenced to one year in prison on one count of burglary, a third-degree felony, and one count of domestic violence, a fifth-degree felony.
- Jeremy Snyder, 28, of Brookshore Drive in Chippewa Lake, was sentenced to one year of community control sanctions on one count of breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony.
- George Atkinson Jr., 40, of Grace Avenue in Barberton, pleaded not guilty to one count of theft, a fifth-degree felony, and one count of fraudulent title, an unclassified felony. A jury trial is scheduled for May 1.
- Michael Dufek, 31, of Miner Drive in Brunswick, pleaded not guilty to one count of illegal manufacture of drugs, a third-degree felony. A jury trial is scheduled for April 29.
- Brian Hardin-Rogers, 23, of Delmont Avenue in East Cleveland, pleaded guilty to one count of receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony. Sentencing is scheduled for March 4.
- Brant Kelling, 22, of Lakeview, Ohio, pleaded not guilty to one count of possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony. A jury trial is scheduled for April 29.
- Jesse Lyons, 31, of Chestnut Street in Wadsworth, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to nine months in prison on one count of trafficking in marijuana and one count of possession of marijuana, third-degree felonies. The charges carry a forfeiture specification.
- William Newrones, 33, of Elyria Road in Medina, pleaded not guilty to one count of failure to register, a fourth-degree felony. A jury trial is scheduled for March 27.
- Jacob Pyle, 25, of Substation Road in Brunswick, was sentenced to one year in prison on one count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a third-degree felony. He also was labeled a Tier II Sex Offender.
- Timothy Riffel, 52, of Electric Road in Seville, pleaded no contest to one count of assault on a peace officer, a fourth-degree felony. He was sentenced to six months in prison.
- Angel Traxler, 34, of Red Oak Drive in Seville, pleaded guilty to one count of attempted assault on a peace officer, a fifth-degree felony. Sentencing is scheduled for March 4.

The following people appeared in court Jan. 24:

- Daniel Bemer, 33, of Sherbrooke Oval in Brunswick, was sentenced to three years of community control sanctions on one count of possession of heroin, two counts of receiving stolen property (credit cards), and one count of theft, fifth-degree felonies. His driver’s license was suspended for six months.
- Ryan Crews, 18, of Oberlin, was sentenced to five years of community control sanctions on one count of breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony. He also was ordered to pay $6,048 in restitution.
- Curtis DeBose, 32, of Phillips Avenue in Cleveland, was sentenced to 11 months in prison on two counts of trafficking in heroin, one of which is a fourth-degree felony and the other a fifth-degree felony. His driver’s license was suspended for six months.
- James Foote Jr., 34, of Larkins Way in Medina, was sentenced to three years of community control sanctions, with 180 days in jail, on one count of possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony. His driver’s license was suspended for six months.
- Thomas Jancik, 30, of East Reagan Parkway in Medina, was sentenced to five years of community control sanctions, with 180 days in jail, on two counts of pandering sexual matter involving a minor, second-degree felonies. He also was labeled a Tier II Sex Offender.
- Stephen McManus, 32, of Barbon Street in Wooster, was sentenced to 18 months in prison on one count of burglary, a third-degree felony.
- John Smoter, 37, of Seville Road in Seville, was sentenced to three years of community control sanctions on two counts of domestic violence, fourth-degree felonies.
- Paul Falkenberg, 31, of Avon Lake Road in Spencer, pleaded not guilty to one count of failure to comply with a police officer, a third-degree felony. A jury trial is scheduled for March 4.
- Franklin Hewitt, 26, of West Virginia, pleaded not guilty to one count of theft, a fifth-degree felony. A jury trial is scheduled for March 27.
- Gregg Workman, 23, of Pitkin Avenue in Akron, pleaded not guilty to two counts of forgery, fifth-degree felonies. A jury trial is scheduled for March 26.

The following people appeared in court Monday:

- James Mathes, 39, of Bronson Street in Medina, was sentenced to one year in prison for a probation violation on one count of passing bad checks, a fifth-degree felony.
- Andrea Mays, 28, of West Union Street in Medina, was sentenced to five years of community control sanctions on one count of possession of heroin, a second-degree felony, and one count of possession of drugs and one count of permitting drug abuse, fifth-degree felonies.
- John Robinson, 24, of Lions Park Drive in Chippewa Lake, was sentenced to 180 days in jail on one count of receiving stolen property (check), a fifth-degree felony.
- Katherine Smith, 27, of Wadsworth Road in Norton, was sentenced to five years of community control sanctions, with 180 days in jail, on two counts of receiving stolen property, and one count of theft, fifth-degree felonies. She also was ordered to pay $32,814.67 in restitution.
- Terry Wallace, 40, of Russells Point, Ohio, was sentenced to two years in prison for a probation violation on two original charges of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, fourth-degree felonies.
- Alexander Watson, 38, of Branch Road in Medina, was sentenced to five years in prison on one count of felonious assault with a pregnancy specification, a second-degree felony, and one count of domestic violence with a pregnant victim specification and one count of domestic violence, fourth-degree felonies.
- Robert Davis, 39, of State Road in Hinckley, pleaded no contest to two counts of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, fourth-degree felonies. Sentencing is scheduled for March 11.
- Christopher Earll, 24, of Center Street in Seville, pleaded not guilty to two counts of theft of a drug, fourth-degree felonies. A jury trial is scheduled for April 28.
- Colton Held, 18, of Deepwood Drive in Wadsworth, pleaded not guilty to one count of aggravated trafficking in drugs, a fourth-degree felony, and one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. A jury trial is scheduled for May 8.
- Dean Knoch, 25, of Cottonwood Drive in Lima, pleaded not guilty to one count of harassment with a bodily substance, a third-degree felony; one count of assault on a peace officer, a fourth-degree felony; and one count of vandalism, a fifth-degree felony. A jury trial is scheduled for April 1.
- Tracey Quinn, 32, of Northpark Drive in Wadsworth, pleaded not guilty to two counts of deception to obtain a dangerous drug, fifth-degree felonies. A jury trial is scheduled for April 29.
- Frank Roten, 22, of Canterbury Lane in Medina, pleaded not guilty to one count of failure to give notice of change of address, a fourth-degree felony. A jury trial is scheduled for April 3.
