2 indicted in house-shooting incident

MEDINA — A Medina County grand jury indicted eight people Wednesday, including two men accused of hitting two Montville Township homes with bullets from an AK-47 assault rifle.

Mark Bornino and R. Daniel Volpone are charged with a count each of discharging a firearm over a public road, which is a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison and $10,000 in fines.

Bornino, 53, of 5544 Windfall Road, Montville Township, and Volpone, 45, of Parma, have no previous criminal records in common pleas courts in Medina and Cuyahoga counties.

The other six people indicted Wednesday are:

• Andrew J. Seeley, 23, of 223 N. Harmony St., Medina, is charged with escaping arrest and receiving a stolen credit card. They are third- and fifth-degree felonies, punishable by a combined maximum of six years in prison and $12,500 in fines. He has no previous criminal record in Medina County Common Pleas Court.

• Hector L. Zepeda Jr., 46, of Hilliard, is charged with two counts of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, which is a fourth-degree felony punishable by a combined maximum of three years in prison and $10,000 in fines. He has no previous criminal record in common pleas courts in Medina and Franklin counties.

• Antonito S. Bradley, 22, of Cleveland, is charged with two counts of cocaine trafficking, which are fourth- and fifth-degree felonies punishable by a combined maximum of 2ᄑ in prison and $7,500 in fines. He was sentenced in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court to 30 days in jail in July 2010 for unauthorized use of a vehicle. He has no previous criminal record in Medina County Common Pleas Court.

• Michael R. Thomas, 32, of 256 S. Elmwood Ave., Medina, is charged with domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony punishable by up to 1½ years in prison and $5,000 in fines. He was sentenced to two years of probation in 2003 after he pleaded guilty in Medina County Common Pleas Court to marijuana trafficking.

• Christopher S. Misener, 41, of 3114 Holly Drive, Brunswick, is charged with domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony punishable by up to 1½ years in prison and $5,000 in fines. He has no previous criminal history in Medina County Common Pleas Court.

• Drew N. Shafer, 19, of 261 Canterbury Lane, Apartment A, Medina, is charged with obstructing justice, a fifth-degree felony punishable by up to a year in prison and $2,500 in fines. Shafer has no previous criminal history in Medina County Common Pleas Court.

A grand jury meets biweekly on Wednesdays. It will meet again Feb. 13.
