Knights beat Grizzlies

MACEDONIA — A big second quarter was all Nordonia’s boys basketball team needed Friday in a 70-59 win over Wadsworth in Suburban League action.

The Knights (15-2, 10-0) won the second quarter 24-13 on a night in which they received double-figure scoring totals from Chris Scott (12 points), Eli Linder (11), Nick Piotrowski (11) and Dameon Luster (11).

Junior power forward Kyle Prunty had 20 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Grizzlies (7-9, 6-4), who also received 14 points and three assists from sophomore small forward Austin White and 12 points from senior center Nathan Pound.

OBERLIN — The Buckeye eighth-grade girls lost to Oberlin 33-29. Corrinne Phillips paced the Bucks (3-5) with nine points and eight steals. The Bucks’ seventh-grade team fell 19-15 to Oberlin. Shannon Galdun had five points for Buckeye (4-4).
