Christine T. “Tootsie” Galdun, 82, of Sterling, died Friday, February 1, 2013 at her residence. She was born July 24, 1930 in Clarence, Pennsylvania to Andrew and Anna (Drapcho) Botson, and lived in Brook Park before moving to Sterling in 1992.
Christine was a Homemaker and worked for American Greetings for 13 years. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Altar Society, and enjoyed cooking, baking, bingo, and crocheting.
She is survived by a son, Daniel (Jean) Galdun of Claridon, Ohio; daughter, Danette (Kenneth) Andrews of Seville; grandchildren; Jason (Amy) Galdun, Sarah Brockway, David (Amy) Andrews, Mark Andrews, and Jenna Galdun; great-grandchildren, Mya, Audrey and Savannah; brothers, Emro Botson of Avon, and Joseph Botson of Sterling; and sister, Barbara Ewolski of Brunswick; and daughter-in-law, Mary Galdun.
She married Donald L. Galdun on May 28, 1949, he preceded her in death on August 5, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Russell; and brothers, Andrew, George, Mike, William and Frank Botson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 11 A.M. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 139 S. First St., Rittman, with Father Steve Moran as Celebrant. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman. Burial of cremains will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church, 139 S. First St., Rittman, OH 44270.
