Burns formerly owned and operated Rowland’s Maytag and Appliance for many years, and was a bricklayer and builder. He was a member and deacon at Litchfield Baptist Church, also a member of the Litchfield Volunteer Fire Department, ATA Association, RLCWA board member, and board member and coach for the Litchfield Little League baseball team, for many years. Burns served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was the loving father of Deborah Sherman (Michael), Burns Edward Rowland (Loretta) and Hubert D. Rowland (Christine); dear grandfather of Heather (Michael) Rutkowski, Alyssia (Michael) Nativio, Clint (Christine) Rowland, Tabitha Norris, Stephanie (Jacob) Mohler, Rebekah (Ryan) Brown, Zachary Sherman, Sarah Rowland, Claude Rowland and David Rowland; great-grandfather of, Caitlyn, Kelsey, Dylan, Cole, Lachlan, Codey, Mikaela, Caeden, Dorian and Calen; devoted brother of Isaac and Ervin Rowland and Ida Ann Stamper.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Louise (Price) Rowland, to whom he was married 59 years; brothers, Herbert, Armstrong, Charles, Henry and Claude; sisters, Flora and Cora Nell.
Service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 11 A.M., at Litchfield Baptist Church, 4022 Avon Lake Rd., Litchfield, 44253. Rev. David Shimp and Pastor Tom Rowland, will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, Friday, February 8, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M., and one hour prior to services on Saturday, at the Church. Burial will take place at Litchfield Cemetery.
