GARRETTSVILLE — There will be two Shirleys at the Warren District bowling tournament.
Wadsworth’s Brendan Shirley finished first Sunday at the Portage Sectional at Sky Lanes, rolling 11 strikes in a row to end the first game with a 290 en route to a 663 series.
A day earlier, sister Lexie was the top individual girls qualifier with a 606 series.
Brendan Shirley closed with games of 196 and 177 to edge Kent Roosevelt’s Joey Swanson by a pin. Crestwood’s Ryan Ambler grabbed the third and final individual spot with a 646 series.
As a team, the Wadsworth boys finished ninth in the 12-team field. The top three — Stow, Solon and Ravenna — advanced to the Feb. 24 district at Crest Lanes.
Robert Hronetz had games of 201 and 245 en route to a 587 series for the Grizzlies, while Brian Auffenberg had a 222 on his way to a 582.
