The agency is scheduled to move Feb. 28 from 142 Highland Drive — its home for the past 23 years — to 232 Northland Drive.

The agency will reopen March 1, according to Mike Pataky, director of the child support agency. Pataky said the move is designed to save money.

“Our lease is expiring, and we’re moving into a county-owned facility,” said Pataky, noting the county will save $7,800 per month on rent.

The child support agency will share space at 232 Northland Drive with the county office of Job and Family Services. Pataky said the move has been in the planning stages since last fall.

“We’ll be downsizing some as far as square footage, but will be entering a more friendly office environment with cubicles,” Pataky said.

The child support agency’s current office space is approximately 9,200 square feet, Pataky said.

He was unsure what the overall space would be at the new location, but said the office’s 32 full-time employees would be spread out over three floors of the building.

Pataky said the child support agency’s mailing address — P.O. Box 1389, Medina, OH 44258 — and phone numbers — (800) 706-2731 or (330) 722-9398 — will not change.
