WESTFIELD TWP. — The Cloverleaf boys basketball team got a great look at its future.
Even better, it came in a blowout win.
The Colts received strong performances Friday from sophomores Cliff Collyer and Connor Ploucha, who helped lead a 61-48 triumph over Tallmadge in Suburban League play.
“We played intense for almost the entire game,” coach Marty Ryan said. “We were very unselfish and we played pretty good defense, too.”
Collyer finished with a game-high 18 points and seven rebounds, while Ploucha scored a career-high 12 points and grabbed a game-high-tying eight boards.
Robby Buckwald and Adam Podolak added nine points apiece for the Colts (6-16, 3-11), who led 46-25 after three quarters.
The Blue Devils fell to 6-16, 2-12.
