Theresa F. VanAman, 97, formerly of Lodi, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Countryside Continuing Care Center in Freemont, where she had resided the past five years. She was born in Bucyrus, on January 2, 1916 to George and Margaret (Long) Rauth and was a graduate of Bucyrus High School.
She married Frank Thomas in 1936, and they resided in Bucyrus and Tiffin, as well as Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, and later Fremont.
Following the passing of her first husband, Frank in 1961, she married Clifford Van Aman. Together, they owned and operated a Sears Catalog Store in Linton, Indiana for a number of years, and later retired to Port Charlotte, Florida.
She moved to Lodi after her second husband’s passing and was a member of Jesus Our Teacher Catholic Church in Lodi.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Dick) Angelone of Muskego, Wisconsin; son, Ron (Rena) Thomas of Lodi; step children, Barbara Kruk of Cambridge, Tom (Leah) VanAman of Sandusky, Robert VanAman of Kalamazoo, Michigan; 16 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and son in law, Art Thompson of New Lennox, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Thomas and Clifford VanAman; daughter, Diane Thompson; step daughter, Luella Karle; grandson, Nicholas Angelone; granddaughter, Janice Thomas; four sisters; and two brothers.
Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 11 A.M. at Jesus Our Teacher Catholic Church, 8240 Buffham Rd., Lodi. Father Ron Bryda will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Fremont. Visitation will be Monday, February 25, 2013 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi.
