BRUNSWICK — City Engineer Ryan Cummins said the city is applying for four grants to improve conditions for students walking to and from school.
The grants are part of the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Safe Routes to School program.
Cummins said city officials analyzed more than 30 projects and decided to apply for four of them.
The city submitted grant applications for the following projects:
• Improve the pedestrian crossing on Pearl Road at St. Ambrose School.
• Complete a sidewalk project on Pearl Road from Edwards Middle School to 1575 Pearl Road.
• Complete a sidewalk project on Pearl Road from St. Ambrose to Miner Road.
• Complete a sidewalk project on Hickory Ridge Road from Hickory Ridge School to Pearl Road.
