BRUNSWICK — Staff at Appleebee’s, 1421 Town Center Blvd., is pitching in to help raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The restaurant is hosting Brunswick’s Got Talent show at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
“We have singers, belly dancers, rappers and a harpist,” said Laura Williams, Applebee’s general manager. “All of them are Brunswick residents who are volunteering their time.”
Fifteen percent of all dinner sales will go to the MDA, which provides research and helps sends kids with muscular dystrophy to summer camp.
Williams said diners should tell their waitress they are attending the restaurant as part of the “dine to donate” fundraiser.
In addition to the donations, there will be raffles, decoration contests and other ways to donate.
CLV Creations, a custom silk screening and embroidery shop in Brunswick, will donate $1 to MDA research for everyone that “likes” its Facebook page during the dinner, so be sure to bring your smartphone with you, Williams said.
Williams said the store did a used prom dress sale last year to raise money for MDA, and she hopes the restaurant will raise even more money this year.
“We’re one of the top fundraising restaurants and we’re hoping to do it again,” she said.
