MEDINA — Home and garden enthusiasts at this weekend’s Medina County Home and Garden Show will be joined by a third pool of fans: beer enthusiasts.
For the first time in the show’s five-year run, a German biergarten designed by JTS Landscaping will offer beer-tasting.
Tickets to the show, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Medina County Community Center, 735 W. Lafayette Road, cost $5 for adults and $4 for seniors. Children ages 12 and younger are admitted free.
More than 140 vendors are scheduled to have booths, ranging from landscaping companies to Tupperware to security businesses.
There also will be several presentations, such as one on brewing beer at home.
Donna Stuver, one of the event promoters, said the most exciting part is the biergarten, which is hosted from noon to 5 p.m. by Lagerheads Smokehouse & Brewing Co., 2832 Abbeyville Road, York Township.
“All the proceeds from beer-tasting will go to the Medina County SPCA,” Stuver said.
She said the other big event is Sunday at 5 p.m., when plants will be for sale at wholesale prices.
“It’ll be like when women go sweater shopping,” she joked.
