Doratha June (Hartman) Pfeffer, 90, of Medina, left her earthly home on Sunday, March 3, 2013. Doratha was born June 28, 1922 in Cleveland, to the late Charles and Mary (Chapman) Hartman.

She was raised by her aunt, Catherine (Hartman) Apple in Newark, following the death of her mother, shortly after her birth. Doratha was primarily a mother and homemaker, working out of the home for a brief period as a waitress and restaurant manager after her daughters were grown. She and her husband, George, moved to Florida after retirement to avoid the Ohio winters, but returned after several years to avoid the Florida hurricanes.

In passing she left behind her daughters Janice I. (Daniel) Norris of Medina and Judith A. (Jerome) Hammond of Columbus, granddaughters Barbara Norris and Theresa (Bruce) Miller, and great grandsons Joseph, Nicholas, Austin and Jeremy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph George Pfeffer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 18, 2013 at 11 A.M., at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Medina, with Father Anthony Sebja officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Newark, at a later date.
