Paula Ruth (nee Haske) Hollopeter, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 20, 2013 surrounded by her family at Hospice of Medina County, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was born in Cleveland on September 28, 1931.
She lived most of her life in Medina, and graduated from Medina High School. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and devoted, compassionate, understanding friend to all who came in contact with her. She served 20+ years as a nurse at Barberton Citizens Hospital. She was a long time member of First Christian Church of Medina. She enjoyed roller skating, classical, and rock and roll music, and being a den mother with Cub Scout Pack 3411. We will miss her smile and great sense of humor.
She is survived by her sons, Brent (Bonnie), Evan (Toni), and Reed (Lois); grandchildren, Brandon (Tara), Bryan (Jessalyn), Jamie (Matt) Perez, Mike (Nikki), Sierra, Emry, and Landon; great grandchildren, Zachary, Lyla, Matthias, and Liam; many nieces, and nephews; and her former husband, Sheldon (Shirley) Hollopeter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Elmer Haske; and her faithful dog, Laddie.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 3 to 7 P.M., at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. A funeral service will be held at 7 P.M., following the visitation, with Reverend Laura Fitt-Baird presiding. Private burial will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery.
